Steven Tsui

Dr Tsui has been a Cardiothoracic and Transplant Surgeon at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, since 1998. His clinical interests encompass surgical treatments of advanced heart and lung diseases including mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary endarterectomy and heart and lung transplantation. His research interest focuses on donor optimization and donor organ utilization. In 2015, Dr Tsui led the Cambridge team which carried out the world’s first DCD heart transplant retrieved using the novel thoracoabdominal normothermic regional perfusion (TANRP) technique.

Dr Tsui is an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery. His is also.an Examiner for the UK as well as the European Cardiothoracic Examination Boards.
