Dr. Paolo C. Colombo is the Sudhir Choudhrie Professor of Cardiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York. He has been Medical Director of the MCS Program since 2014.  His research has focused on the sources of systemic inflammation and their role in the pathogenesis of heart failure, as well as on outcomes and pathophysiology of complications during long-term LVAD support. He has been funded by numerous grants from the NIH and other national organizations. He has authored more than 290 peer-reviewed manuscripts in prestigious journals, including the NEJM, Circulation, JACC and the European Heart Journal and the European Journal of Heart Failure.
