Michele Senni is Professor of Cardiology at University Bicocca-Milan, and Chief of Cardiovascular Department and Division of Cardiology at Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, Italy. He has been a Fellow of the Mayo Clinic, of the European Society of Cardiology (since 2000) and of the ANMCO (Associazione Nazionale Medici Cardiologi Ospedalieri since 2001).

He is Associate Editor of European Journal of Heart Failure. Prof Senni was Chairman of Heart Failure Working Group of ANMCO in 2009 – 2010. Since 2019 Member of Committee – HFA Working Group of Heart Failure preserved Ejection Fraction of Heart Failure Association of ESC and since December 2020 Member of the Study Group on Diabetes and Hypertension of Heart Failure Association of ESC.

He has served, as member of Steering committee, Global Lead Investigator, and National Coordinator of numerous and recent clinical trials, including PARADIGM, PARAGON, TITRATION, TRANSITION, EMPEROR Reduced and Preserved, ARTS, CHIARA MIA, PERSPECTIVE, PANACHE, PANTHEON, PARADISE, VICTORIA, FINEARTS, DIAMOND, DETERMINE, STEP HFpEF-DM, VICTOR.

Prof Senni’s publications (more than 300) can be found in peer review journals.

Prof Senni has a wide range of clinical research interests including various aspects of heart failure. Some of his more recent publications have concerned the prevention, the role of biomarkers for cardiac structure phenotyping, the prognostic stratification and targeted strategies for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction phenotypes.
