Training in Cardiac Surgery in London, UK at the Hospital for Sick children, Great Ormond Street, the National Heart Hospital, the Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital.

In 1991 Consultant adult and pediatric Cardiac surgeon at The University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, Wales.
From September 1998 to August 2023 Director of Cardiac surgery and Cardiac Transplantation at S. Camillo Hospital in Rome, Italy. Over the years Dr. Musumeci has built a large experience in adult and congenital Heart Surgery. He has a special interest in aortic surgery which includes valve sparing procedures and the Ross operation. Since the beginning of his career, he has matured a large competence in valve repair techniques and has mastered minimally invasive, robot assisted and trans-catheter approaches for the treatment of cardiac valve diseases. Over the last 20 years he has directed the regional Center for Heart for Transplant an MCS.
